Proxy

The previous night was one of the better ones of my life. I had a hard time convincing myself to sleep. I was so excited, but sleep was necessary because tomorrow was my turn to do 'proxy'. You see we had an agreement, my friends and I. We were bound by the sacred word, an unspoken oath, we had to take turns to go the morning tutorials and mark the attendance of each other. There were three of us, Rohan, Sammer and I.Sameer and Rohan had served their terms respectively, I was next. I did not see an eye to an eye to the morning lectures. But I had no choice, we had marks for attendance, ya that's right, no need to be taken aback. So as per plan I slept early(which was at 1 by the way)to get up on time the next day.Next morning it took 6 alarms and the constant banging by my neighbor on my door( apparently he had woke up due to the alarms and was a bit irritated that I was still asleep and was switching the alarms off) to wake me up. So i woke up , had breakfast for the first time in the mess and then went to class as a dutiful slave.
What was taught in class is of less importance, it was like a tangent. it touched my head and went far away!!!!!!!!. So I am sparing you the details.
What was interesting is what followed
You see we have a sheet that is passed among students to mark the attendance. Teachers actually believe that students will not use any unfair means!!!!!!!!
So when the sheet was passed to me I marked mine Rohan's and Sameer's attendance.
I was relieved after that, a job well done. I was wrong.
Destiny has a personal grudge against me, always has. Never before had the teacher never before but then that day he decided to take a head count. There were 2 students less, ob.
Teacher - "Who has put proxy attendance?"
No answer
Teacher - "Tell me or zero to all of you"
Some geek, some moron gave the idea to call out the names.
'I am a dead duck' I thought
So he called out the names
"Sameer"
No answer
"Rohan"
No answer
"Puneet"
"Present Sir"
"Where are the above two"
"I don't know sir"
"I haven't seen you in any class, but your attendance is full, you people you think you can fool us. I want to see all three of you in my chamber this evening or consider yourselves repeating the course"
'I am screwed man' "Yes Sir"

A NIGHT TO REMEMBER - 2

So we were on top of on LT4 on a full moon night facing a river that was shining like silver. Pooja was loving it and I was feeling on top of the world
Me - "Have a seat maa'm"
Pooja - "Yes, yes why not"
I was thinking about a topic to start a conversation but couldn't find one. Told you I am a complete jerk at this. I was lucky enough that Pooja was in chit-chat mood.
Pooja - "So tell me , how did you find this place"
Me - (Sammer you \m/) "Just discovered, by chance"
Pooja - "Hmm , so tell me , you told me you write stuff and all. What kind of stuff?"
Me- "All kinds of. Depends on my mood. I write stories and poems......."
Pooja - "Poems , wow do you remember any of them "
Me - "Lemme see, I do remember quite a few"
So then I told her about my poems , mostly romantic ones(I did this on purpose)
Pooja - "Wow dude you are talented and romantic. You must be having a girlfriend"
Me - "Haven't been so lucky"
Pooja - "Dont worry yaar won't be much long. So any crushes in campus?"
Me - "Hmm I am not sure I am still considering one( you idiot)"
Pooja - "Who ,tell me"
Me - "Don't worry , the day I am sure you'll be the first one to know"
Pooja - "Thanks dude"
Me - "What about you meri hi raam kahani puche jaa rahi hai"
Pooja - "Not much luck here either. Every other guy I meet doesn't seem to be interested in my looks not me"
Me - (Can't blame them) "All guys are not like that"
So this random stuff continued on. I was surprised I was getting better at it. Sameer was right, you have to enter the field to get experienced.
Pooja - "Omg , it is 11 gotta go"
Me - "Ya , me too bye cya later"
Pooja - "bye , take care"
That was the most beautiful 30 odd minutes I had for a long time. Truly it was a night to remember.

A NIGHT TO REMEMBER- 1

So here I was having dinner at shahi, with Pooja her friend and Sameer. To tell you the truth I didn't eat much (how could I, non veg and me well we do not see an eye to an eye). Still I managed to maintain a smile on my face.So after dinner while we were washing our hands, Sameer came up to me and said.
Sameer - "So dude, what now?"
Me - "What , what now , back to the hostel , I've to give those sheets to Rohan"
Sammer - "You are one dumb headed moron, you will let the go awa.y Dude this is your chance , take her for a walk. Get to know her or more importantly get her to know you."
Me - "Ehm Ehm , I get your point sire. There is only one slight problem. Why will she come? She hardly knows me. And by the way I am not good at doing all this. "
Sameer - "You have to enter the field to get experience soldier. Don't worry I will work my magic. Now go and talk to her On it soldier."
Me - "Whatever"
So I followed Sameer's instructions and started to chat with Pooja. I am lame at this and I sucked. She kept on laughing on stuff which was not meant to be a joke"
Anyways Sameer did work his magic and Pooja's friend went with him( for a walk I guess
While going Sameer came to me and said - "Dude take her to the balcony above LT4 , near the workshop, you have to just climb over a railing"
Me - "If somebody sees us , I mean is it all right"
Sameer - "Come on dude you are not robbing a bank. Trust me you will thank me for this later."
So after gathering all my courage I went up to Pooja and said - "I am feeling like going for a walk , are you game"
Pooja - "Ya , sure"
The reply was pretty prompt and quick. I was somewhat amazed , I didn't expect her to respond so quickly. 'Aren't girls suppose to take time and be shy', I thought.
Pooja apparently read my thoughts - "What , what happened?"
Me - "No , nothing I was just surprised......."
Pooja - "At what. Look you seem a nice guy , a safe guy. A guy with whom I can be friends with, you know just friends."
'Ya right, I am no saint maa'm don't be any wrong impression' I thought, but i didn't say so.
Me - "Ya why not? Sure"
So I started this first most important walk of my life.
Me - "You wanna have something at Ice and Spice"
Pooja - "Ok but your treat"
Me - "Sure"
We ordered two Ice creams(they were simply awesome. I would have actually loved them on some other day but today I was just concentrating on not making a fool out of myself in front of her)
Pooja - "These ice creams are really great.....should visit this more often"
Me - "True , true"
Pooja(laughing)- "Don't get too happy mister, that would mean more loss of money for you"
So after having our ice cream we just strolled around near the B dome stairs.
Me - "I know a great place wanna see it"
Pooja - "Huh ok"
So we went towards that part of the A wing .
Pooja - "Where are you taking me?"
Me - "No questions"
When we reached there , I mean near the railing
Me - "Climb over , after you maam"
Pooja - "Are you crazy this is not allowed"
Me - "Who said it isn't, if you are feeling afraid we can go back, chicken "
Pooja - "Huh I am not afraid"
Me - "Let me go first"
After crossing over we were on the top of a terrace. Well it was not a terrace , just the top portion of LT4 . The view from there was simply awesome. The river was looking silvery in the moonlight.
Pooja - "Wow, this is so lovely. I didn't know such a beautiful spot was there in the campus"
