Chamber Consulataion

Whenever there is something bad that you know is about to happen with you and you can’t do anything to stop it, you tend to try to forget about it for sometime and then you try to pretend as is nothing happened. I was desperately trying to do the same. There is only one hitch in this method that bad moment truly arrives and when it does it truly knocks the air out of you.
Something like that was about to happen with me. Here I was in Bits, hardly 3 weeks old and already I was going to pay my first visit to the teacher’s chamber, not for academic purpose. Have you ever had a feeling when you wait for something bad to happen, something like when you were waiting to take your first shot of vaccine when you were a kid. The feeling is very bad and the wait even more. So here we where Rohan , Sameer and me waiting outside the chamber of our teacher.
Rohan – “Sameer, Puneet you better behave inside, I don’t want any trouble inside because of you guys”
Sameer – “O come on guys, we have not any crime here , chill………..”
Me – “We’ll argue later, can we go inside now”
So we went inside, obviously after a knock and a ‘may we come in sir’ , just like obedient school kids.
Teacher – “Yes , yes so you are the trio that has been misleading me for some time , haan. Nice planning I must say, but we are more smarter than you , that is why we are your teachers.
Rohan had a very guilty expression on his face while Sameer had a ‘I don’t care, get over with it soon’ kind of expression. I was having a tough time striking the balance between these two expressions.
Teacher – “This is disgusting------------------------------all heard stuff but which was true too---------------------------------------, you know if I complain , you registration might be cancelled also”
This triggered Rohan off. He was soon overflowing with –‘We are sorry sir, we won’t so it again and similar type pleas, I too joined a bit
Me – “We are sorry sir, it won’t happen again”
After a rather hard elbow from Rohan Sameer too gurgled a feeble ‘sorry’
Teacher – “You boys are young, your parents have so many hopes from you. You people are intelligent too, why don’t you put it to good use?”
Strange and stereotype as it may sound all these things were true.
Teacher – “ I am leaving you now , but you three boys must be present in all classes and if you try anything smart again , you will have had it, now go,………”
After coming out
Rohan – “Almost had it today..”
Me – “That was close”
Sameer – “Told you , it is always like this , come on lets race to ice and spice, last one pays”
Rohan – “You will never improve right?”
Sameer – “you bet”
